自汉武帝开辟“河西四郡”以来，甘肃一直是古丝绸之路的锁钥和黄金路段，承担着多种文明交流融合的重要通道作用。历代以来，无数仁人志士、文人墨客、贤达名流在甘肃从政、戍边、生活或旅行期间，无不被甘肃广阔、多元、神奇的边塞大地所震撼，无不被山清、水秀、草绿的秀美陇原所折服，他们为这片雄奇壮美的土地纷纷挥毫泼墨、讴歌抒怀、描写不衰。

Since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty established the Four Commanderies of Hexi, Gansu has been the key to the golden section of the ancient Silk Road, and has played an important role in communication between and integration of multiple civilizations. Throughout the ages, countless outstanding men and women, luminaries of literature and art and other well-known people, served in politics, defended borders, lived or traveled in Gansu. All were enthralled by this vast, diverse and magical frontier, impressed by its beautiful mountains and clear waters, so much so that they wrote songs and poems about it, drew it and painted it, poured out their hearts to celebrate it.
