This tour is designed for visitors from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and it will take you on a journey across Gansu, following the stories told in ancient poems. The Hexi Corridor is the main route from Mainland China to the Western Regions and is home to the capital of ancient northwest China. Starting here, Buddhism spread eastward along the Hexi Corridor, the so-called ‘throat’ of the Silk Road, to the west. In times past it also served as a strategic military center in the northwest. During ancient war times, many Chinese notables went there to take refuge. Since ancient times, it has been a place of abundance in addition to its role as a vital military point, and throughout history it has formed magnificent cultures. You will enjoy a one-day cultural tour to Lanzhou, Liangzhou (Wuwei), Ganzhou (Zhangye), Suzhou (Jiuquan) and Shazhou (Dunhuang).
